I'm talking about you!

"Our world is full of men and women who shy away from the challenges and demands of life and family. They hide inside hobbies and work, politics and pleasure. When confronted with the truth they tend to whine and wimp out.
Hallelujah! An army of authentic Christians are being raised up in the world. Hundreds, dare I say thousands have heard the call to a better way of doing God's children, and they have heeded that call. They are rising to the challenge. The message of authentic Christianity has appealed to something that has laid dorment in their souls for a long time. They have dug deep, reached high and dreamed big. They are changing the world. In case you haven't guessed, I am talking about YOU!"

He is the best

Pray this prayer for yourself today.

The more we call on God
the more we can feel God's presence.
Day by day we are drawn closer
to the loving heart of God.

Lord, you created me to live in freedom.
Mostly I take this gift for granted.
Inspire me to live in the freedom you intended,
with a heart untroubled and with complete trust in you.

Knowing that God loves me unconditionally, I can afford to be honest about how I am. How has the last day been, and how do I feel now?
I share my feelings openly with the Lord.

SO WHAT?

Today open your heart up to the reality that God will love you no matter what.
Nothing you have done can change the love He has for you!
Trust in the goodness of Jesus---He is the Best!

Still Taking this City

Pikes Peak.
In Colorado Springs where I lived before coming to Georgia there is a massive mountain that overlooks the whole city called Pikes Peak. It towers over everything and you can see it from pretty much anywhere in the city. When you climb or drive to the top of this 14,000 Foot high mountain, there is a café and look out where you can see far and wide. But my favorite view of Pikes Peak is at night. Many nights I would be driving home from a long day and would look up to the top of the mountain. On the very top of the mountain is a light. It shines all day, every day.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5: 14, “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Every night as I looked at this mountain and the light on it, God reminded me that I am suppose to be a light to all those around me and it takes sacrifice and hard work to get to the top of that mountain to shine your light.

So What?
Where has God asked you to sacrifice so you can be a light to those around you? Has he asked you to step out of your comfort zone to talk to people or to be more excellent with how you act around people so they can tell there is a light inside of you that shines on them? Think of 5 ways that you can be a light to those around you today.
